News Networks Refuse Pentagon Press Rules

Networks Refuse Rules
Major television networks, including Fox News, ABC, CBS, NBC, and CNN, announced they would not sign the Defense Department’s new press policy.
Context
The Pentagon introduced a 21-page document last month that replaced a simpler one-page form outlining access limitations for journalists. The new policy requires journalists to pledge that they would not obtain or solicit unauthorized information and restricts their movement within Pentagon facilities unless accompanied by an official. Since taking office, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, a former Fox News weekend anchor, has removed outlets from their workspace and restricted where reporters could move within the complex.
Rule Rejection
Ahead of the Defense Department’s Tuesday 5PM deadline, the majority of television networks and major news organizations declined to agree to the Pentagon's requirements.
