
xAI Secures Federal Government Deal

Agreement Reached
The US government struck a deal with Elon Musk’s artificial intelligence company xAI to provide its Grok chatbot to federal agencies.
Context
The General Services Administration (GSA) has been working since April to bring AI tools to federal agencies through its “OneGov Strategy.” Similar partnerships already exist with OpenAI, Google, and Anthropic, which charge between 47 cents and one dollar for their services. The initiative aims to modernize government technology and standardize pricing across agencies.
Agreement Reached
Federal agencies gained access to xAI’s Grok models through an 18-month agreement announced Thursday by the GSA.
